
A rare opportunity has arisen for a Gardener to join our dedicated and passionate team of six, who are responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the gardens to the highest standards.
Holker Hall and Gardens has been home to the Cavendish family for over 400 years. Over that time the gardens have continually evolved into the exciting and diverse landscape they are today. The garden feature formal beds and border, lawns and meadows, water features, topiary, a cut-flower production area, glasshouses and an extensive woodland garden containing many notable trees and shrubs.
40 hours per week, including some weekend working as part of a shared rota across the team.
The gardens are both open to the public and remain the private home of the Cavendish family.
The successful candidate will assist with all aspects of seasonal garden maintenance and take pride in delivering work of a consistently high standard. The role requires someone who is flexible, reliable, and discreet, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Candidates should have experience working in professional horticulture, operating basic horticultural machinery and hold a driving licence. A Level 2 horticultural qualification and experience working in a similar setting and are desirable. Please note that this role involves physically demanding and repetitive outdoor work.
